THE JOURNEY TO YOGA

My yoga journey began years ago, while traveling around the country working as an engineer. During this time, I began to take classes at studios in the various locations where I was working and discovered a very powerful way, not only to stay in shape physically, but also to connect to deeper layers of myself and cultivate an awareness of my being on an inner level. During these years, I gained exposure to many different yoga lineages, including ashtanga, bikram, vinyasa and anusara yoga.

As my journey continued and my desire to bring my own career path in line with my calling to be a source of inspiration to others, I embarked on a teacher training with the World Yoga Family in early 2008 in Rishikesh, India. Since then, I have been teaching yoga in the United States, mainly in New York City.

THE JOURNEY SINCE

Training in India was but a step on the journey. Since I have been back in New York City my journey has unfolded in a rich and diverse way. I have been inspired by many teachers here, most notably Dharma Mittra.

I have had the opportunity to work with a number of private clients who have ranged vastly in age and physical condition, as well as in their personal challenges and goals. I have also spent considerable time working with various groups ranging from corporations, educational institutions, martial arts organizations, etc…

I have also spent substantial time embarking on an in-depth study of indian dhrupad music, both in india and the US, which I employ both for its value in my own spiritual journey, as well as to aid in meditation, awaken subtle energy channels in the mind, and co-create a sense of inspiration and upliftment in students.

I only work with a few private students at any one time. In this way, I can get to know each of my students well and give them individual attention that I would not otherwise be able to offer if I were dealing with a higher volume.

The following is a synopsis of my education:
